A GRADE ROUND 1 @ STRATFORD VS LONGFORD
A grade meet Longford at Stratford on Friday in round 1 of the season. Its a significant day for the club as stalwart Sam "Nugget" Anstee will be celebrating playing his 200th senior match for the club. Nugget has had a massive roll at the club for a number of years and played a major role in the clubs success both on and off the field. He coached the under 16s to a grand final in 2004/05, played in 4 A grade premierships in 2000/01, 2005/06, 2006,07 and 2013/14, is a 5 time senior coach, has been president and secretary of the club and won the Peter Thornhill Memorial Award for clubman of the year on 2 occasions.
The bar will be open along with the canteen throughout the day. Happy hour will begin at 5 and conclude at 7 with $3 beers and $5 mixed drinks available. There will also be chicken parmigiana with chips and salad available from 6 till 8 cooked by new club chef Ken Russell. There will be a presentation for Nugget at 7 o'clock.
Friday will also mark the first match the clubs eftpos machine will be up and running. So get along to the club to cheer on Nugget and the A grade boys.
The game is a 12.30 start so if all players could be there ready to warm up at 11.30.
