Ethan and Tyra into last 48 of state squads
Ethan Aurisch and Tyra Macklin have both progressed through the regional stage of the state primary schools under 13 boys and girls try outs. This is no mean feat considering only 4 players from all 6 leagues in Gippsland make it past this stage! Both Ethan and Tyra were part of our under 12 team last year which was coached by Ben Channing.
Ethan is a right hand top order batsmen and medium pace bowler. Already in his short career Ethan has tasted success at a representative level 2nd top scoring in last year’s annual Sale Maffra town vs country match where he had a match winning partnership with fellow Stratford player Kane Russell. Ethan has been training extremely hard during the off season in our Redbacks Academy readying himself for the tryouts. His first training is at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during the school holidays.
Tyra is also a top order batsmen and medium pace bowler. Tyra has shown that she is more than up to matching it with the boys last year in the Stratford under 12 side and will relish the opportunity to test herself against the best female cricketers her age in the state. Her training is also at the MCG in the school holidays.
