We would like to officially welcome all our members to Season 2016/17! The season looks set to be a big one with preparations already in place for a big year for everyone at the club.
AGM
The club held it’s AGM with all positions successfully filled, the executive remained the same as last year which was pleasing to see. SCC Committee as follows: Neil Tatterson (President) Simon Waixel (Vice President) Sam Anstee (Secretary) Scott Bennett
(Treasurer) General Committee Joe Kiss, Damien Albrecht, Ken Russell, Scott Dare, Danielle Anstee and Scott Dare. Congratulations to all and thanks to Lindsay Schilg for chairing the AGM.
LIFE MEMBERS
We also formally recognised the contributions that three members of our club have given over the years with Andy Bye, Joe Kiss & Luke Maguire awarded Life Memberships. Well done guys. Whilst we are talking about Luke, Luke and his beautiful wife Nichole recently celebrated the birth of their daughter Charlotte! Well done Maguires.
WINTER RAFFLES
You may have seen already the club has started its campaign with firewood raffles; tickets can be purchased for $2.00 off any of our committee members or in BP Stratford! The wood raffle will be drawn in June. All profits go towards improvements within the club through junior coaching and equipment. We will also becoming more active through the winter with more details to come surrounding winter events etc.
PRIVATE TRAINING
Monday nights are firing up with the club already commencing private lessons for interested people, these are particularly targeted at junior members but we encourage all of our members who would like to improve their cricket, get in touch with Myself, Taylor or Neil to organise private lessons. Please note these are $25 per lesson, which when compared to prominent coaching companies are actually really cost effective.
OVERSEAS
Cormac Hassett is overseas playing for Cork in Ireland, the team compete in the premier munster division of the Leinster Leauge, According to CricHQ, Cormac has had a good start with a top score of 90. Congrats Cormac.
WEBSITE
The club is nearly in a position of launching a brand new website, it is envisaged that this year we will be using this as a preferred way of communication through our social media channels. We have some exciting stuff planned and the website will be the centrepiece, we will be relying on our members to contribute to this but once launched this will be discussed further!
